The History of the English Language by Risa

The English has been contrasted by all the European expansions and invasion into Britain a brought to it a big change into a global language.

Now the English has become a global language with speakers in the entire world. But in spite of that English is not an old language as other important language. English arrived to South Britain in what’s now England, by the original English speakers, the Angles and Saxons, and the called their language Englisc (language spoken by angles). English is part of the Western Germanic sub Family of the Indo European languages, and the old English is very similar to Frisian. When the Englisc arrived the predominant language was Latin and Celtic variants of it, as Pictish, Syriac and Tintagal. And because of this English didn’t become important until arrive of Alfred the Great, that conquered all the territories in the southern Britain.

In earlier centuries York became the center of the English-speaking world. But this started to change and It moved into Winchester because of the conquests during that era, until the arrive of Danish rule of Canute that made London the new English speaking center and make it to remind as well to our days. And this affected a lot to our now used English.

The English has also adapted through the years to be more easily understood between the speakers so because of the accent and the stress use of the words the English has been adapting to cover the necessities between the speakers as more clarity when writing or speaking English to ends it conversion into a global language. Aside of the grammatical changes the pronunciation changed a lot because of the needs of the speakers.  English because is a very used language, has changed; only non-used languages keeps as they were left behind. But despite of the English still have things of the original English. The English has changed a lot because of the requirement of the people and because of the problems of pronunciation and also because of the trends of the era. Is unlikely that any modern reader can understand Shakespeare works because of the type of English used in the Elizabethan era. And is more difficult when the work is very similar to another in pronunciation. Change in a language will keep because is a language that is still being used and It will continue adapting to the necessities of the people. Today’s Globalization will take part of the future evolution in the English language.

The English can be thought as an adaptation of various languages, it started as the language spoken by conquers of the old Britain, but it become a more origin-complex language. The English changed a lot from a language spoken by warriors, it changed all the pronunciation in order to make a language easy to speak and understand, is believed as the English globalize more it will keep changing and evolving through the years, imagine in 100 years people speaking English that and English native of our era cannot even understand it.
