The History of the English Language by Tabitha Hergest

Is incredible how a language can get so different because of the artistic movements and because of the changes in the government as English did.

England where English takes its origin comes from Angle, who is the German race that following the collapse of Roman contingent, invaded the southern part of Britain. The roots of the English are based mostly in the people that invaded Britain as the Angles because they were elitist people so they didn’t with indigenous Celtic cultures. After the Angles, the Saxons and the Jutes came into Britain territory too. All of them left mark in the old original English. Also the Vikings left important words as anger and mush, as consequence of their settlement in Britain. The church also took part in the creation of the English; they introduced the Latin to their language because of the rules in the church of those times.
With the last conquest of England by French Normandy, the English turned into a very different language, because with that conquest England starts to use French as a lingua for the nobility. And with the renaissance, England started to interest in Latin origins of Europe as Greek civilization, so they started to add more and more Latin word into their alphabet. Latin inspired art and culture in England it started to become more and more and important part of the English language.
The expansion of renaissance touched a lot he English literature it added more and more Latin culture and word to the English alphabet. It made that people as Shakespeare and Marlowe enriched more the English of those times with a lot Latin derivate words. So with the conquest of new territories and the loss of other England added more words to their initial list and the language changed more and more. The English started to also add idioms into its language culture. The English as a language will never die because it’s now globalized, and the language as it will never die, it will only change because of the different circumstances occurring between the pass of the years.
Not all the people now how the renaissance affected the English, or how it affected the modern English. Most of the people know that invasions and the imperialism affected in different ways the English; also they know that with our technology era English is changing because of all the new words that are being created. Renaissance created new English based in poets as Shakespeare that make idioms and brought new word to the English alphabet. Poets as Shakespeare inspired in words of another languages created a new gamma of idioms and words.
